We had a very enjoyable evening at Eugenie’s – and what a fabulous view from her house.

Fantastic to see and hear the nesting peregrines fighting off a pair of marauding crows on the cragside across the river.

Brilliant.

As was the book!

Although set in the 1990s, all agreed the style felt as if it belonged to an earlier era. Although there was a variety of opinions and interpretations of some of the events, there was a universal thumbs up for the story and its author, with many saying they would look out for more books by William Trevor.
